The earliest version reported was a "Women's Day" organized by the Socialist Party of America in New York City on February 28, 1909. IWD became a mainstream global holiday following its adoption by the United Nations in 1977.
For the past 14 years, Pikes Peak Zonta has hosted IWD in Colorado Springs creating a beautiful celebration event at an affordable price creating inclusion for as many as possible. The IWD Colorado Springs event offers inspiration speakers, education, networking and booths from supporting partners across the region including AAUW, Pinnacle Advanced Primary Care, Southern CO Women's Chamber of Commerce, Women's Educational Society, Mandy Penn Photography, Women's Club of Colorado Springs, Zonta Pikes Peak, Human Trafficking Task Force of Southern CO and more.

Special Kids Special Families’ Bowl-A-Rama is an annual tradition that many look forward to every year! The BOWL FOR THE GREEN St. Patrick’s Day Bowl-A-Rama takes place on Saturday, March 16th, 2024 at King Pin Lanes from 2-4pm.
During this annual event, teams don their favorite St. Patrick’s Day outfits, wear their green and bowl to support a good cause helping raise funds for programs for individuals with disabilities and their families.
We will hold a DRAWING for some great prizes offered by area businesses. Throughout the event, secret judges will be voting on who has the most team spirit, biggest smile, best team helpers, best costume and MORE – handing out contest prizes! Included in admission is a meal voucher that can be used in the bowling alley’s concession area and a buy one get one free drawing ticket coupon!
