Come join the Palmer Lake Historical Society as we meet Brett Lobello, Director of Regional History & Genealogy. Brett works for the Pikes Peak Library District & will share information about researching through the Special Collections collected & housed in the 1905 Carnegie building adjacent to Penrose Library. We will learn about the Special Collections & how to use the library for special research projects.
Are you interested in researching your genealogy but aren't sure where to start?
Are your children interested in history?
Brett will provide information about the Special Collections spanning back to the 1800s.
Doors open at 6:30 PM, program starts at 7:00 PM. Light refreshments will be served after the program. FREE & open to the public. We welcome other historical nonprofits to join us to learn about this valuable resource. Learn about Colorado's colorful past.
About the Palmer Lake Historical Society
Mission: The mission of the Palmer Lake Historical Society (PLHS) is to preserve, protect, promote, and provide access to historical data, artifacts and other items of significance relating to the Palmer Divide area and make resources available to the public primarily through the Lucretia Vaile Museum and annual programming.
Goals: The primary goals and objectives of the Palmer Lake Historical Society are to assemble, preserve, display (as feasible), and interpret historical objects and printed material pertaining to the Palmer Divide area that includes Palmer Lake, Monument, School District 38, the United States Air Force Academy, and as far east as Table Rock.
Please consider joining and networking with the Palmer Lake Historical Society. Various levels of participation available including family and senior memberships. All ages welcome. Leaning the signs & symptoms of strokes can help save lives. In this interactive presentation you will become knowledgeable of what to do when a stroke is happening, how to prevent it and what can be done for treatment.The presentation will be led by Katja Hendrickson, Stroke Program Coordinator. Katja was born and raised in Germany. She has been a nurse for 28 years in neuroscience and has been working with stroke patients since 2005. She has a master's in Nursing from Walden University with a focus on stroke and neuroscience. Katja is a Doctoral Candidate at Walden University with a focus on Quality Care in Stroke.
