About Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance
Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance (PPORA) is a coalition of businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, and community members dedicated to advancing the outdoor recreation industry in the Pikes Peak region. United by the belief that our natural assets are essential to both economic vitality and community well-being, PPORA fosters collaboration, leadership, and innovation to strengthen the outdoor sector. Guided by a Board and Advisory Council of industry and civic leaders including founding partners Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC and Visit Colorado Springs, the Alliance works to position the region as a premier destination for outdoor recreation.
We believe that time outdoors is more than recreation, it is a foundation for healthier lives, stronger communities, and sustainable economic growth. Research shows that outdoor activity not only enhances physical and mental health but also contributes to safer neighborhoods, improved educational outcomes, and reduced health care costs. By bringing diverse stakeholders together, PPORA champions policies, programs, and partnerships that ensure the Pikes Peak region remains a thriving hub for adventure, exploration, and community connection.
