Downtown Monument's annual Small Town Christmas event is Saturday, December 7, from 10-3 with the town's tree lighting ceremony at 5. Covered Treasures has been a partner in this event since the beginning. We host authors for the day. This year, we have local author Karen Koepcke Morgan coming by the store from 11-1 to sign her book, Are You Stronger Than An Ant? and cookbook author, Nicole Hampton will be at the store from 1-3 signing her two cookbooks, High-Altitude Breakfast and Sugar High. Sunday with Santa is on Sunday, December 15, from 10-3 at Ann Holzem Photography Shop near the Love Shop. Besides Santa, there will be the annual Reindeer Scavenger Hunt at participating shops (we are one of the shops). Covered Treasures Bookstore is hosting authors from 1-3. Nancy Jurka (Bright Star of Palmer Lake and Magic on the Mountainside) and Susan Permut (The Christmas Camel) will read from their books and their favorites from 1-2 and then will be available to sign their books from 2-3. Jamie Siebrase (Exploring Colorado with Kids) and Heigi Wigand-Nicely (Energy at Sacred Sites) will, also, be at the store from 1-3 signing their various titles.
