After a two year hiatus of participating in a poetry event in store, we are happy to announce that we will host two poets to celebrate Poetry Month.  Come by Covered Treasures Bookstore, 105 Second Street, Monument on Saturday, April 9 from 1-3 to meet poets Joe Murphy and Lonnie Wartman.  They will read from their collections, talk a bit about writing poetry, answer questions and give tips.  Please feel free to bring a poem or your own or a favorite poem to recite as we will have an open period for our guests to contribute (if they are interested).  We look forward to a fun month of celebrating the art of poetry.

Jackson Creek Senior Living to Host Colorado Parkinson Foundation for Lunch & Learn Presentation on April 21
Free & Open to the Public

MONUMENT, Colo. – April 7, 20222 – A Colorado Parkinson Foundation representative will be speaking at the Jackson Creek Senior Living monthly “Lunch-n-Learn” event on Thursday, April 21 at 11 a.m. MT.
 
Members of the public are invited to visit the Jackson Creek Senior Living campus, located at 16601 Jackson Creek Parkway, in Monument, Colo., for this free event. Lunch will be served during the presentation followed by a question-and-answer session for guests to find out more about caring for the unique needs of those with Parkinson’s disease.
 
The Colorado Parkinson Foundation provides support for Parkinson’s patients, their families, and caregivers as a resource for information about symptoms, medication, research, and treatment of the disease. In addition to helping raise funds for Parkinson’s research, the foundation also trains professional caregivers, including doctors and nurses, on how to care for those living with Parkinson’s Disease.
