Celebrating spring with evening of big band jazz, complimentary treats

Jackson Creek Senior Living will celebrate spring with an evening of big band jazz and complimentary refreshments on Saturday, April 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. Big band jazz is a general description for groups of 10 or more musicians, but often refers to music from the Swing Era during the late 30’s and early 40’s. The event will feature a sampling of top swing bands and favorite songs to accommodate a wide variety of music tastes. The jazz event is one example of how the wellness-focused senior living community strengthens residents’ health; listening to music has been shown to improve cognitive function, enhance communication skills and foster socialization, which can all contribute to bettering an older adult’s quality of life.
