Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce hosts D38 Board of Education Candidate Forum
This November, D38 will have two seats open on the Board of Education.
Three candidates have submitted valid petitions to appear on the November ballot in hopes of filling the empty seats. Candidates include from Director District 1, Tim Bennett, and from Director District 3, Jackie Burhans and Ginger Schaaf.
On Monday, Sept. 29, the community is invited to hear from the candidates at a Board of Education Candidate Forum hosted by the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce. The event will take place from 6:00—7:30 p.m. at the D38 Administration Building.
Fox21's Matt Meister will serve as moderator.
The two open seats on the D38 Board of Education will be vacated by President Tiffiney Upchurch, who is term-limited, and Vice President Kris Norris, who is moving out of the area.
Director District boundaries ensure that school board candidates are distributed district wide. Although candidates must reside in their district, directors are elected by a district wide ballot.
