Ever wonder why the National Western Stock Show has had an influence on the livestock industry since 1906?  Join the Western Museum of Mining and Industry (WMMI) on Tuesday, November 12, at 4 p.m. for the November Lecture Series: “The Denver’s Stockyards and the National Western Stock Show” with Keith Fessenden. Delve into the history of the Denver Union Stockyards and the National Western Stock Show’s lengthy relationship. Learn about packing houses and railroads and their connection with stockyards. Admission is free for WMMI members and $5 for nonmembers.

Keith is a Colorado native who grew up in mining towns in Colorado and northeastern Utah. He graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Agricultural Economics. He has volunteered with the stock show for 30 years and is currently the Western Historian/Archivist since April 2012. A life member of the New England Historic Genealogical Society, Keith researches both genealogy and Western U.S. history.
